Wind Farm Community Engagement Committees
Council is seeking to fill several Community Representative vacancies on the following wind farm Community Engagement Committees (CECs):
- Hawkesdale Wind Farm CEC
- Ryan Corner Wind Farm CEC
- Woolsthorpe Wind Farm CEC
- Dundonnell Wind Farm CEC
- Mortlake South Wind Farm CEC
- Mt Fyans Wind Farm CEC
- Willatook Wind Farm CEC
- Hexham Wind Farm CEC
Interested people who reside in districts in the vicinity of the above projects are encouraged to nominate. The main purpose of a CEC is to enhance the timely flow of information about the wind farm project between the community, the proponent, Council and other relevant stakeholders. (Please note that CECs do not administer or make decisions on individual wind farm community grant funds).
The general purpose of the CEC is to enhance the timely flow of information about wind farms between the community, the proponent, Council and other relevant stakeholders. The CEC currently meets once every three months.
Appointment of a community representative to the CEC will be made by Council having regard to a range of selection criteria, including whether a nominee:
- Resides within the vicinity of the relevant wind farm site.
- Has links to or is involved in local community networks and/or organisations.
- Is willing and able to represent and communicate the interests of the community to the CEC, and relay information from the CEC to the community.
- Is willing to adhere to the CEC’s Code of Conduct.
Nominations for the community representative position close at 5pm on Friday 7 February 2025.
