Moyne Shire Council offers a range of support incentives to new and existing business to promote business growth and expansion in the community.

Worker accommodation

By providing access to comfortable, affordable accommodation options, we can address some of the barriers to employment and help attract and retain the workers needed to support businesses to grow and prosper.

Small business incentives scheme

The small business incentives scheme for fee reduction and waivers will support small businesses with the cost of doing business in Moyne. The program enables business operators to apply for financial waivers and discounts for council permits and other approvals. More details here.

Business facade improvement program

The business facade improvement program assists Moyne businesses to improve their business frontage to enhance the appeal of the local streetscape within the commercial and shopping areas of Moyne Shire. More details here.

Love Local Moyne

The ‘Love Local Moyne’ campaign strives to help local businesses bounce back from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by encouraging the community and visitors to the region to shop, share and love our local businesses.

Business and economic development newsletter

The business and economic development newsletter series provides updates for business owners operating in Moyne. The monthly newsletter, sent from council's economic development unit, provides a range of news and articles including business support initiatives, grants, upcoming events and more.

The Ideas Place

The South West region is on the search for its next generation of entrepreneurs with the support of a $275,000 LaunchVic grant to facilitate the Ideas Place progrm. The program that will provide expert guidance in bringing their innovative ideas to market.

Until the end of 2024, aspiring South West entrepreneurs can join these fully funded programs:

Ignite Programs: 10 week training program to help startups kickstart your ideas, design or product into a successful business. This is NOT a full time course but a part time program that requires your commitment of equivalent one day a week (OR a half day a week, depending on the programs) over several weeks.

Bootcamps: 3-week training program that tests your ideas and improves your personal skills. Bootcamps are designed to target specific elements of startup growth and equip entrepreneurs with information and advice on how to overcome challenges.

Pitch Nights: the opportunity to pitch your idea in front of local businesses and possible investors and win $10k, $5k or $3k towards your business idea.
