Regional Workforce Pilots

Moyne Shire Council is currently exploring new ways to support business owners and address housing shortages and other barriers to workforce attraction. The state government's investment in the Koroit Caravan Park Workers Accommodation initiative will support Council to provide five affordable cabins, with a focus on accommodation for short-term workers, scheduled for completion July 2022.

Another five cabins are currently available at Council-managed Mortlake Caravan Park, with local business owners already utilising the accommodation options and access to a range of facilities at the Park.

Both Mortlake and Koroit present unique opportunities for economic growth, with huge potential to create more employment opportunities and new pathways for key industries. A shortage of affordable accommodation and skilled workers has prompted Council to find new ways to support business owners. By providing access to comfortable, affordable accommodation options, we can create new opportunities to help attract and retain the workers you need to support your business to grow and prosper.
