Supporting the creative life of the shire

A shared vision for the creative future of Moyne Shire has been endorsed.
The Arts and Culture Strategy 2024-2030 highlights the Council’s commitments and how it will use its resources, as well as maximise funding from state and federal government programs.
Implementation of the strategy includes a comprehensive series of programs and behind-the-scenes activities, and the appointment of an Arts and Culture Officer who will take the lead in coordinating the actions outlined in the strategy.
Mayor, Cr Ian Smith said Moyne Shire is a place where the arts are a normal part of everyday life, where everyone should have access to creative opportunities.
“This strategy is a shared vision for the creative future of Moyne,” said Cr Smith.
“We are very grateful to all who contributed to the development of the strategy, particularly the members of the Project Advisory Group.
“The comprehensive strategy includes short-, medium- and long-term goals, as well as governance and reporting guidelines.”
“We will increase opportunities and resources for creatives in our communities, and make more spaces available for creative uses and presentation. We especially look forward to delivering youth-focused creative initiatives and development opportunities.”
