Moyne Shire Council is seeking community feedback on its draft Council Plan 2025-2029.

The Council Plan is the key strategic document that guides Council’s actions for the current term.

It lays out objectives, priority actions and indicators so Council can measure and track its progress.

Mayor Cr Karen Foster said the first steps in developing the draft included a detailed online survey, community listening posts across the shire, a number of deliberative community workshops and a local stakeholder workshop.

“The Councillors have taken all this feedback on board in generating the new plan. We heard consistent messages from the community which we assigned into two main themes, each with four priorities,” said Cr Foster.

Strengthening Our Foundations is focused on improving what we currently do, to more effectively manage our key assets like roads and buildings, to enhance our natural environments and to remain financially sustainable,” she said.

Setting Us Up For Growth looks at how we can be innovative in connecting and activating our communities – our smaller villages, in particular – to improve Moyne’s resilience and to make the most of our natural, agricultural and industrial prowess.”

“After months of working together and shaping the plan, it’s time to check back in with the community to make sure the draft Council Plan reflects what we heard.”

“We’re pleased to present this draft plan to the community and encourage everyone to let us know what they think.”

“I very much want to thank community members for their time and energy in providing input into this plan.”

The draft Council Plan is available on Engage Moyne.

People can also visit council customer service offices, our libraries or the Port Fairy Visitor Information Centre to access the survey online, or to collect a hard copy of the plan and submission form or call us on 1300 656 564.

Feedback closes on Sunday 11 May 2025.
