Seeking passionate volunteers for community asset committees

Published on 30 October 2024

Community Asset Committees (CAC) give community members a say in how their local facilities are maintained and enhanced.

A new Council is about to be formed, so it’s time to seek new members for the committees.

Council is inviting people to nominate to be a volunteer member of the following five CACs.

  • Koroit Theatre
  • Mortlake Recreation Reserve
  • Nirranda and District Community Facility
  • Southcombe Park, Port Fairy
  • Victoria Park, Koroit

CEO, Mark Eversteyn said that community involvement was crucial in operating, maintaining and managing these facilities.

“Sporting and cultural facilities like these are so important to communities, and it’s vital that local voices have a say in how they are run” said Mr Eversteyn.

“We encourage anyone who has an interest or skills they can share that will help oversee and improve these community assets. Involvement is not onerous,” he said.

Nominations open 1 November 2024 at 9am and close on Monday 18th November 2024 at 5pm, and can be made at www.moyne.vic.gov.au/CaC

Nomination forms are also available as hard copies at Moyne Shire customer service offices in Mortlake and Port Fairy.
