Thursday May 4 will be an official public holiday across the Moyne Shire for Warrnambool Cup Day.
As they have in previous years, Councillors agreed to this date at the December Council Meeting in place of the Melbourne Cup Day Holiday.
The date was chosen because of the shire's proximity to Warrnambool and the overlap of community members attending secondary schools, childcare and employment. The day is also a Public Holiday in the Warrnambool City Council area.
The
Minister for Small Business has approved the date and placed it in the Victorian Government Gazette.
