Planning Panels Victoria have released a report in response to Planning Amendment C75 – River’s Run Estate.

The report follows a 7-day hearing held during October and recommends the amendment proceed.

Director Environment, Economy and Place Jodie McNamara said the panel has recommended the amendment be approved as modified by the applicant during the panel hearing.

“We will now consider the recommendations and put them before Councillors at a meeting in 2024,” she said.

Mayor Cr Ian Smith said the developer proposed amendment would rezone land from farming zone to residential zone and subdivide into 63 lots and include provisions for affordable housing.

“The amendment was exhibited publicly from December 16, 2021 until January 31, 2022 and there were 89 submissions received,” Cr Smith said.

“The submission were considered at the Council meeting on July 25, 2023 and Councillors resolved to request an independent planning panel.

“That feedback has now been considered by both Councillors and the independent planning panel. I thank the panel for their comprehensive report and recommendations and we will now consider the recommendations at a meeting in the near future.”
