Explore, engage, evolve at the Moyne Seniors Festival

Published on 11 October 2024

Older residents across Moyne Shire are being encouraged to explore, engage and evolve throughout October 2024 as part of the Moyne Seniors Festival.

A range of free activities is planned across the month – coinciding with the Victorian Seniors Festival.

Moyne Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Mark Eversteyn said the Moyne Seniors Festival will feature activities designed to bring people of all ages together, fostering intergenerational connections and creating lasting memories.

“It’s a full program which includes a movie screening, intergenerational rhyme time sessions, a historic walking tour and intergenerational chess clubs held across the shire,” said Mr Eversteyn.

“We’re excited to join the state-wide celebration of seniors and to be offering local events which encourage everyone to explore new activities, engage with others, and evolve in both mind and spirit,” he said.

“From historic walking tours to help sessions for getting online and using technology, the local program has something for everyone to enjoy.”

Mr Eversteyn said an event guide has been created, detailing all festival activities, times, and locations.

Guides can be picked up at Moyne Shire offices or accessed online at Moyne Seniors Festival
