Clients to have a say on aged & disability services review

As part of a comprehensive review into its aged and disability services, council will undertake community consultations across Moyne Shire this month.

Clients and their families will be invited to consultation sessions in Peterborough, Mortlake, Port Fairy, Koroit, Macarthur and Hawkesdale from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 October.

Council’s review process will explore the different roles council can undertake in the community care sector such as promoting positive ageing, assisting informed decision-making, and continuation of community care support services.

Council aims to ensure it is well-prepared to respond to the upcoming Aged Care Reforms that will bring changes to the operational and funding environment.

Mayor Cr Karen Foster said “We know we must adapt to evolving funding models, while maintaining the quality of care”.

“Australia’s community care sector has for many years been undergoing a process of ongoing reform, which presents many challenges to service clients and providers.”

“We want the insights and feedback of our clients, which will be essential in shaping the future of community care services in our shire.”

Invitations to community consultation sessions are being sent directly to clients.
