Animal registration

New registrations

All cats and dogs from 12 weeks of age need to be registered and permanently implanted with a microchip.

Apply to register a cat or dog

A lifetime tag and registration number will be posted following acceptance of an on-line registration application.

Unless specific exemptions apply, the life time tag must be worn on the pet's collar when not confined to the owner’s property.  Lost or damaged tags can be replaced by request at one of council’s offices or by phoning customer service on 1300 656 564.

If you have recently relocated to the Moyne Shire and your dog or cat is currently registered with another municipality, you must still register with the Moyne Shire.  Moyne Shire will transfer a valid registration from another municipality free of charge.

Change of registration

If your pet is currently registered in Moyne Shire Council and has passed away, is no longer in your care or if you are moving to a new address you will need to inform us.
