Community Asset Committees

The Local Government Act 2020 provides the capacity for Council to adopt Community Asset Committees to assist with facility use and management. 

All community member positions are vacated at the commencement of the election caretaker period to ensure the community remains aligned with the evolving objectives and priorities of the Council.

Council is encouraging community members to nominate to be a volunteer member of the following five CACs established by Council and have a say in maintaining and enhancing these facilities for the community:

  • Koroit Theatre
  • Mortlake Recreation Reserve
  • Nirranda and District Community Facility
  • Southcombe Park
  • Victoria Park

Club delegated representatives from current user groups of the resident sporting clubs are automatically included on the Community Asset Committee and are therefore exempt from the expression of interest process.
